Maritime operators don't need another dashboard. They need technology that fits their workflows, surfaces the right information at the right time, and gets out of the way when they're executing. You'll build the interfaces that make Narwhal's AI agents useful, from procurement automation tools to shipment tracking systems to inventory reconciliation interfaces. Your code will run on vessels at sea and in operations centers managing global fleets.
What You'll Do
- Design and build user interfaces for workflow automation: procurement request forms, supplier quote comparison, shipment tracking dashboards, inventory sync tools
- Develop the frontend components that expose AI agent capabilities in intuitive, operator-friendly ways
- Build backend services that orchestrate AI agents, manage data synchronization, and integrate with customer systems
- Implement authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant security for shipping company deployments
- Create real-time data synchronization between vessels, shore offices, suppliers, and forwarders
- Work directly with operators through our Ambassador Program, watch them use your software, iterate based on feedback, measure impact on their workflows
- Own features end-to-end: from understanding customer pain points to shipping production code to measuring adoption
Who You Are
- 5+ years full-stack engineering experience
- Strong frontend skills: React, TypeScript, modern CSS, responsive design
- Solid backend experience: Node.js/Python, REST APIs, database design, authentication systems
- Understanding of real-time data systems, WebSockets, and state management
- Experience building enterprise software for non-technical users, you think about UX, error handling, and edge cases
- Comfortable working with complex data models and integrations
- Pragmatic: you ship working code, then iterate based on user feedback rather than pursuing perfection
- Customer-focused: you want to see operators using your software and solving real problems
- Comfortable working directly with operators and technical teams during deployments, you'll debug issues on-site and explain technical decisions in operational terms
Nice to Have
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations-heavy industries
- Background in enterprise B2B software or multi-tenant SaaS
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration (calling LLM APIs, displaying agent outputs, handling uncertainty)
- Understanding of maritime operations or freight forwarding
